Pennies for Patients

Gibson Elementary participated in Pennies for Patients from February 27th to March 10th . Here is the thank you letter from the Sacramento Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thank you all parents who participated in raising these funds!

Hi, Families!

The last coin has been counted, and the results are in! Because we worked together, Our Pennies for Patients campaign was a big success. We raised $475.76 toward helping the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society meet its goal of eliminating blood cancers forever. Thank you so much for helping and encouraging your child to participate in Pennies for Patients. There’s only one more thing we’d like to ask you to do:

  • Tell your child how proud you are of him or her for making a difference for the thousands of children and adults battling blood cancers!

Want to get more involved?
Now that you’ve joined the fight against blood cancers, why stop now? There are many ways you can become more involved and continue making a difference. To find out more, go to www.lls.org. Then click on the “How to Help” button at the top.

The money your child collected during Pennies for Patients helps the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provide a wide array of resources to help those affected by blood cancers. If you know someone who has been recently diagnosed or is dealing with treatment or diagnosis challenges, LLS funds the Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program, which connects patients and their loved ones with someone who has been through a similar diagnosis. For more information, click here.

Thanks again for your help with Pennies for Patients. We could not have done it without you!

News

12/15/16

I just purchased three (3) new cushions for our class!  The best deal is through Amazon and they are about $ 15.00.  These are truly a life saver for those children who find is challenging or impossible to sit still long enough to learn.  For those of you who are interested, come into class and see them in action!

Thanks for all your continued support to help me help your child succeed. You are some kind of wonderful!!!

Read Across America

Dear Gibson Families,

We are working on inviting folks from various careers to help us celebrate Read Across AmericaDay which is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd – Dr. Seuss’s birthday. This wonderful opportunity would entail a professional from our community reading their favorite Dr. Seuss book to a classroom of Gibson Gators and sharing some interesting facts about their career with our young scholars.

Online School Site Survey

Dear parents,

Our district is conducting a survey. If you would like to participate please click on the survey form. It gives special instructions to take the district survey online.
